The pay conundrum

Tons of low paying gigs vs. a few high paying ones? Most people would say the high paying ones are better. Of course. The problem with high paying gigs: hard to come by, everyone wants them.

Since I’ve mainly been in the low-to-decent paying markets, here’s what I’ve come to realize. If you get in the ins with a couple of editors who’ve come to rely on your work, you make decent change to get by. I’m something of a hamster, when it comes to work. I have to keep running, while juggling 10 things in the air to feel like I’m doing something with my life.

Somehow the anxiety of not being able to make anything at all if I’m going slower makes me very scared. Slowness is something I’ll still have to get used to.
